Maryhill Festival of Speed

The Maryhill Festival of Speed is the largest gravity sports festival in North America. Recognized the world over as one of the best courses and venues, the Maryhill Festival is the most anticipated world cup downhill skateboarding event in the world. Sanctioned by the International Downhill Federation (IDF), this event is serious business, but more importantly, serious fun. Needless to say, the Woodstock team is psyched about this five day festival taking place June 26th – 30th.

200 of the world’s fastest downhill longboarders from around the world will battle on the historic Maryhill Loops Road for 2.2 miles of sweeping hairpin turns, fast straightaways, and flawless pavement. Set along the dramatic backdrop of the Columbia River Gorge, a race at Maryhill is truly a spectacular thing to see.

Unlike some of the other Maryhill events, this one welcomes spectators, offering two spectator sections, action sports exhibits, food, and music! Unless you hate having a good time in a beautiful setting around cool people, there is no excuse to not come hang out! Woodstock Longboards will be there, will you?

Hey Laaaaadies! She-Ride 2013!

We love this all ladies, laid-back, super fun Maryhill ride. Here at Woodstock, we fully support all the lady riders out there, and we love that the Maryhill Ratz are hosting the She-Ride for the second year at the Historic Maryhill Loops Road.

The She-Ride is not a competition, just gathering of longboarders and a weekend of support, coaching, skating, and of course, FUN. To make it that much better, informal coaching will be provided by some of the best women skaters in the world. The event is open to all skill levels, from the complete noobs to experienced racers. A shortened version the road will be available to riders wishing to build skills and confidence to eventually tackle it from top to bottom.

Maryhill Noobs Freeride Event

Okay, so we aren’t all (even some of us here with Woodstock team) aren’t ready to ride in pro events like the Free-4-All. For the less experienced, yet ever-eager, londboard rider behold: The Maryhill Noobs Freeride 2013. June 15th and 16th, 2013. We will be there representing Woodstock Longboards with riders of all skill levels!

The Noobs Freeride allows less experienced riders to gain some downhill experience, and for the more experienced rider to ride the famous hill at a more casual pace. Unlike the Free-4-All’s, the Noobs Freeride will feature small packs and leathers are not required. In order to just hang as a spectator, you will need to sign up as an event volunteer.

Event Schedule:
Saturday, June 15th
8:00am Gates open
8:45am mandatory riders meeting
9:00am First lift up the hill
5:00pm Last Run

Maryhill Free-4-All Freeride Event

Spring is upon us which means longboard season and all of the awesome events that come with it! This year we are stoked to be attending the Maryhill Free-4-All with the new line of Woodstock boards!

The Maryhill Free-4-All Freeride event is one of the first of the season in the Northwest, and we can’t wait! We were there last year, and it was fantastic. Breaking out the 2013 Woodstock line at such a core event was just a no brainer to us.

This is the fourth year for the Free-4-All, sponsored by the Maryhill Ratz. Riders from all over the country come to the Freerides to enjoy the curves and steeps that are Maryhill. There are no prizes or spectators, and the Freerides are not a race. Instead it is a get-together of people who all love one thing, longboarding. For the core riders at these events all they could dream of is a closed hill with hay bales, EMTs, safety workers, and shuttles, and that’s exactly what the Maryhill Free-4-All provides. They get in as many runs as possible on both Saturday and Sunday. As we know from previous years, this event happens rain or shine and we can’t wait.

Event Schedule:
Saturday, April 20th
8:00am Gates open
8:45am mandatory riders meeting
9:00am First lift up the hill
5:00pm Last Run

Sunday, April 21st
8:00 am Gates open
9:00 am First lift up the hill
5:00 pm Last Run

Check the Maryhill Ratz site for more detailed event info.
